Our Story
“The believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers. A sense of awe came over everyone. God performed many wonders and signs through the apostles. All the believers were united and shared everything. They would sell pieces of property and possessions and distribute the proceeds to everyone who needed them. Every day, they met together in the temple and ate in their homes. They shared food with gladness and simplicity. They praised God and demonstrated God’s goodness to everyone. The Lord added daily to the community those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
In the beginning “the church” was built on gatherings of those wishing to live into the salvation brought by Jesus into the world by gathering together whenever and where ever they could to worship, pray, share and go and take care of others. Often people gathered around the well in the community and the time shared together would bring for hope and life to all who gathered like a wellspring of fresh water; the Living Water.
WellSpring is a new community in the Upper Cumberlands, specifically Cumberland County, TN to make spaces to gather as the first century church did: in homes, businesses, parks, etc.
The groups gather to pray, worship, break bread, and lift each other up with the intention of gathering all the groups to “BE” the church in the community through ministry and mission. Our theology is formed in the Wesleyan Tradition of Grace, Mercy and Justice.
Our Mission
To bring about healing, wholeness and hope through the gathering and seeking God in gatherings of people seeking God in a simple setting.
